Not to be confused with cheaper tools, the Morris Devon Billhook is a well-made, hand-forged steel cutting tool. The Devonshire billhook offers a blunt nose which strengthens the tool and minimises damage when coppicing low to the forest floor. The tang of the blade runs through the handle (full-tang) making this forestry tool extra strong. The Devon billhook has excellent balance and the larger than standard size means it's often the chosen billhook for harvesting coppice materials, and is particularly good for splitting hazel rods.
The oval-shaped handle is made from ash wood and have been varnished for protection, although this can be easily removed if you prefer an oiled handle finish.
