Every Old Bear® knife reflects the skill and passion of the craftspeople who produce it. Natural variations in the handle materials and finishing give each knife its own unique character.
Adjustable and Easy to Maintain
Each knife is supplied with a Torx T8 key, allowing the blade tension to be adjusted to suit the owner’s preference. This simple system also makes routine cleaning and maintenance easier.
Carefully Selected, Food-Safe Materials
The blades are made from Aperam Nitrogen Steel W 1.4060 MA5. Suitable for contact with food, this steel provides excellent corrosion resistance, while its nitrogen content contributes to improved edge retention.
Old Bear® laminated wooden handles are produced using non-toxic pigments and adhesives, contain no added formaldehyde and are also suitable for food contact.
Secure, Dependable Performance
A strong safety collar locks the blade securely in both the open and closed positions, providing greater stability during use and safer storage when the knife is not required.
Brass collars undergo three specialist treatments: pickling to remove impurities, lead removal to ensure food-contact compatibility, and passivation to protect against corrosion and help preserve their appearance.
Designed with the Planet in Mind
Where available, Old Bear® prioritises wood sourced from responsibly managed, FSC-certified forests. Packaging is produced using recycled paper and cardboard alongside Green PE, a bio-based plastic made from sugar cane.
The result is a distinctive range of folding knives that brings together craftsmanship, innovation, durability and thoughtful material choices.
