DD Junior Frontline Hammock – A Children’s Camping Hammock with Mosquito Net

Introduce younger adventurers to hammock camping with the DD Junior Frontline Hammock, a compact children’s hammock designed for forest schools, Scout groups, outdoor education, family camping and supervised woodland adventures.
Based on the popular full-size DD Frontline Hammock, this junior version offers the same practical double-layer construction, integrated insect net and straightforward suspension system in a smaller 1.9m × 1.1m size. It provides children with a comfortable place to rest, relax or sleep while developing confidence and outdoor skills.
Integrated Mosquito and Midge Net
The built-in ultra-fine mesh mosquito net helps protect the child from mosquitoes, midges and other flying insects. Two lightweight spreader poles hold the net away from the face and body, creating a more spacious and comfortable interior.
The net can be rolled away when it is not required. During insect-free conditions, the hammock can also be turned over and used with the net underneath.
Comfortable Double-Layer Design
Two layers of breathable polyester help provide a comfortable sleeping area during warmer outdoor conditions. In cooler weather, a partially inflated compatible camping mat can be placed between the layers to improve insulation and reduce heat loss from underneath.
Corner tabs also allow a compatible DD Underblanket to be attached when additional warmth is needed.
Easy to Set Up for Supervised Outdoor Activities
The hammock comes pre-fitted with 8 metres of strong suspension webbing, providing 4 metres at each end for attaching it between suitable trees or approved hammock supports.
This simple system makes the junior hammock useful for supervised Forest School sessions, Scout camps, woodland skills activities and introductory hammock camping. Installation and use should always be checked by a responsible adult.
Useful Storage Inside
Four internal pockets provide convenient storage for lightweight essentials such as:
- A small torch or headlamp
- Hat and gloves
- Glasses
- Small personal belongings
- A favourite toy or comfort item
Internal hanging loops also provide useful attachment points for lightweight accessories.
Please Note
This children’s hammock is not waterproof. A suitable camping tarp should be positioned above it whenever rain or changing weather is possible. The compact DD Tarp 2 × 2 is recommended as a suitable cover.
The hammock is designed for children up to approximately 120cm tall, despite its higher tested weight capacity. It should not be purchased as an adult hammock.
