Boonies Millbank Bag Filtration Kit
Millbank Bags are an old style water filtration tool that is still very much essential when teaching and learning about water filtration. Most Millbank Bags are army surplus and are NOT safe to be used as they've often been used to filter fuels and chemical by the army - but the Boonies Outdoor Millbank Bags are brand new and ideal for forest school style learning as well as bushcraft, survival on outdoor expeditions and scouting troops who want to learn about the skills of making water safe to drink.
How to Use Millbank Bags
Millbank Bags are very simple to use and incredibly compact and lightweight - they'll fit into a pocket. To use them, simply soak in some water to tighten the weave and then scoop up some water that you want to filter. Hang from a suitable place and catch the dripping water into a receptacle. Millbank Bags filter out sediment and detritus from the water, but it's important to note that the water must still be boiled or purified before drinking - Millbank Bags remove the organic matter from naturally occurring water sources, they don't purify it - they filter it which is just as important as purification.
Each bag can filter approx 3 litres of water per use and is fully reusable.
