Gransfors Bruks Small Hatchet
The small hatchet is the smallest and lightest axe that Gransfors make. In fact, at approx. 340g it's possibly the most lightweight hand-forged and handmade axe on the market. It's tiny, small enough to fit on a belt, or even in a pocket if you don't have a better way of carrying an axe whilst working out in the woods.
The mini hatchet was designed and developed by Lennart Pettersson (LP) at the Gransfors Bruks factory in Sweden. The design was based on the weight-saving idea of making an axe that is able to act as both an axe and a knife, a cutting tool which is capable of completing the tasks usually only doable if both outdoor tools are carried. The small hatchet is the perfect tool for carving, chopping kindling, making spoons, preparing materials for shelter building and hunting. We even use them to great success when making feather sticks for the fire. The 2.5-Inch cutting surface is incredibly sharp, far sharper than the vast majority of bushcraft knives out there today.
